Aesthetic Carbon-Epoxy Prepreg VTC212-C245T-HS-42% RW Twill 2x2 of 245 gm2, 1250 wide

VTC212 is a carbon-epoxy toughened prepreg designed for out of autoclave cure allowing flexibility in component manufacture.  

This prepreg is suitable for applications together with aesthetic prepegs MTC275 (also available in this online shop) in order to achieve thicker laminates. MTC275-C416T-HS-6K-38% RW Twill 2x2 of 416 g/m2 and245 g/m2 are normally the best option for a part together with VTC212-C245T-HA-42%RW.
Aesthetic Carbon-Epoxy Prepreg VTC212-C245T-HA-42%RW Twill 2x2 of 245 gm2 is used as surface layer free of pinholes while the MTC275 are used as bulk plies.

Key Features

• Cure temperature from 60°C
• Service temperature up to 120°C after postcure
• Low CTE and shrinkage
• Work life at 20°C of 21 days
• Storage life at -18°C of 12 months
• Very low VOC content – no added solvents during manufacture.

Recommended Cure cycles:
Option 1: initial cure 50°C for 1 hour followed by 60°C for 1 hour and 70°C for 10 hours. Resulting Tg 70°C.

Option 2: initial cure 50°C for 1 hour followed by 60°C for 1 hour, 70°C for 1 hour and 120°C for 1 hour. Resulting Tg 120°C.
The use of solid release film is recommended
