Release Agent Mikon® 227 MC is an ultra-fast evaporating, multi-purpose semi-permanent mould release agent that is used to release most thermosetting resins from gelcoated and non-gelcoated mould materials.
Mikon® 227 MC is a fast-evaporating, semi-permanent multi-purpose mold release agent used to release most thermosetting resins from molds, whether they are coated or uncoated with gelcoat.
The product is exceptionally easy and quick to apply (clean, let it act) and does not require the use of any additional mold sealers.
Mikon® 227 MC can be applied using a spray gun with a 0.5mm nozzle.
(We recommend not using the application gun to spray other products or mold releases, as it may affect the efficiency of the mold release.)
After curing, the cured mold release film remains stable at temperatures up to 450 °C / 842 °F. However, the product is commonly applied at temperatures ranging from 10-80 °C / 50-176 °F.
Molded parts released with Mikon® 227 MC exhibit a high gloss, smooth surface finish and do not get contaminated by Mikon® 227 MC. This allows for direct varnishing or bonding without further treatment.
