Biaxial glass fabric of 450 g/m2 built of two layers of unidirectional fabric oriented at +45º and -45º respectively. Extensively used for han lay-up, injection or infusion and RTM . Suitable for any type of thermosetting resin like polyester, urethane-acrylate, vinyl ester or epoxy.
Widely used for processes where a very good mechanical strength combined with aesthetic quality finishes are required. "Print through" effect is avoided when placing these fabrics not too close on the gel coat.

Stitched Glass Fabrics, also named Non-Crimp Fabrics, are ideally suited for selective reinforcement. Fibreglass is bundled and stitched together, rather than woven, so there is no crimp in the yarn. As a result, these reinforcements offer optimized directional strength for their finished composite parts, showing no distortion of the yarns. For this reason, they are popular in the marine, building & construction, rail and wind energy industries.
These fabrics are ideal mainly for hand lay-up and the infusion process, where fast wet-out and strength control are essential.
They are compatible with polyester (Crystic), urethane-acrylate (Crestapol), vinyl ester (Crystic), and epoxy resins (Resoltech & Castropox).
Benefits of multiaxial fabrics:
- Fiber, weight and orientation are ideally adjusted: The positions are specifically aligned to the ideal quantity and orientation in the loading direction // Angles of between -22.5° and +22.5° are possible // 0° position is also possible.
- Stretched fibers for optimum mechanical strength: Absorption of the highest possible loads through stretched fibres // Reduced component weight while maintaining equal mechanical properties or even a higher component load with the same component weight.
- Individual drapability and outstanding permeability: The drapability of the our multiaxials is tailored to customer requirements and exhibits outstanding permeability.
- Cost savings due to fewer layers: Reduction of the manufacturing costs (fewer layers are required thanks to the higher area weight of the individual layers).
