The Gelcoat Castropox E7UV is formulated with an epoxy resin thixotropic laminate based on an aliphatic epoxy with a high degree of UV resistance. High dimensional stability at elevated temperatures, good mechanical properties and non-harmful in contact with skin.
Warning: Returns are not accepted for Gel Coats and Top Coats pigmented according to the RAL chart, as they are specifically made for each order.
The Gelcoat Castropox E7UV is formulated with an epoxy resin thixotropic laminate based on an aliphatic epoxy with a high degree of resistance to ultraviolet radiation (UV).
The Gelcoat Castropox E7UV has a lower tendency to crystallize at low temperatures. Its viscosity enables good handling during its application.
The curing system presents a great hardness, dimensional stability over various temperature ranges and also excellent chemical resistance.
Gelcoat Castropox E7UV must be applied on surfaces that have been previously treated with a mold release agent. To achieve a good adhesion of the epoxy resin lamination on this gelcoat must be laminar over just before the gelcoat is cured completely. That is to say, when we can leave it selected on our own fingerprint, but without us sticking the finger or get wet.
In order to increase the thermal resistance of the parts composite above the age of 65,orC it is recommended that a postcurado in the oven.
The product shall be subjected to a curing process during approximately 6 hours at 60 oC, or, in the case that there is a maximum requirement of thermal resistance, for a further 3 hours at 90 oC and, subsequently, a further 6 hours at 110 oC ~120 oC. During this process the temperature will increase GRADUALLY (to a maximum of 10oC per hour) until you reach the recommended maximum. The cooling process will follow these same steps (gradually as well). During the manufacture of pieces of composite made of carbon fiber, there is a tension to the contrary during the cooling process.
ATTENTION: A rise too fast the temperature may produce deformations in the part. On the other hand, if the cooling process is too fast can cause the appearance of cracks. This is a general rule for all composite products manufactured with epoxy resins.
Hardener Castrodur 331
Mixing ratio 113 : 30
Processability (gel time) of about 20-25 minutes.
With this hardener, the resin base of this gelcoat can be used, in some occasions, even as or topcoat in the product composite. The quality of the resulting surface will be good even without a potscurado heat (always and when using this hardener).
